More about School Lunch Hero Day:
School Lunch Hero Day is a nationally recognized opportunity to thank the school nutrition professionals who serve 30 million students each day. This initiative was originally inspired by Jarrett J. Krosoczka, author and illustrator of the popular LUNCH LADY graphic novel series, and now widely promoted by the School Nutrition Association. Locally, School Lunch Hero celebrations were coordinated by Whatcom Farm-to-School, and sponsored by the Whatcom Community Foundation’s Sustainable Whatcom Fund. Many thanks to the staff and students in all of the participating districts for all the work they did to make the celebrations of their School Lunch Heroes truly special.
School Lunch Hero Day details, ideas, and downloads in English and Spanish are available at www.SchoolLunchHeroDay.com.
