Ingredients
1 cup fresh cauliflower
1 cup fresh broccoli
2 Tbs. butter
2 ½ Tbs. all-purpose flour
2 ½ cups milk
1 cup freshly shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 tsp. English mustard powder
Salt, pepper and cayenne to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Boil cauliflower and broccoli about 10 minutes, or microwave in a covered dish with 2 Tbs. water, until veggies are tender. Drain, transfer to baking dish. Melt butter in a saucepan on low heat, and stir in flour. Gradually whisk in milk, and increase heat to medium. As sauce thickens, add mustard, cayenne, salt and pepper. Continue whisking until thick. Sprinkle in 2/3 of cheese and stir until melted. Pour sauce over veggies and bake for 20 minutes. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and cook 10 more minutes.
