This time when everything has suddenly changed is a challenge in so many ways, but also an opportunity. The opportunity is to explore and learn things we might not otherwise, and to nurture ourselves and our families in new ways.
Below are some excellent learning resources to explore with kids of various ages. In addition, we have a wealth of Harvest of the Month materials for the April item, legumes, that include a guide to growing your own dry beans, recipes, and a video that teaches you how to make a black bean cake (sounds strange but it’s really good!).

This guide can be used to spark discussion at home after viewing the Academy Award-nominated documentary Food, Inc., which takes a critical look at the industrialization of our country’s food supply.
