Fifty-five students from 10 elementary schools, as well as a few children who are home-schooled, entered the Persuade Picky Pat Contest. They did a fantastic job trying to persuade Picky Pat in writing and in pictures to try a new fruit or vegetable. Four winners were selected to win $25 prizes:
- 2nd-3rd Grade Essay Winner: Ethan Pickens, 3rd grade, Home School
- 2nd-3rd Grade Art Winner: Sierra McPhail, 3rd grade, Isom Elementary
- 4th-5th Grade Essay Winner: Robyn Pike, 5th grade, Parkview Elementary
- 4th-5th Grade Art Winner: William Story, 4th grade, Columbia Elementary
